PSA Against Bullying

Awareness Creating Public Service Announcement School violence is not just the big stuff like Columbine. It also encompasses bullying. Children can become targets of bullying, many a times, simply because of who they are: their physical appearance, social skills, sexual orientation, physical or learning disability, obesity, to name just a few common factors. Bullying can escalate to bigger crimes and causes lasting psychological trauma. I decided to use school stationary as a means to represent school children, both the bullies and the bullied. A pencil left alone, a ruler overshadowed by a taller one, a closed book, thin lines that seem to shrivel against a thick one. The film ends with a call to action, to go to the website nationalsave.org, which works to protect children at risk.
