Thank you for taking the time to view my work. Design is truly my calling. It’s the answer to my childhood dream of making art for a living. Growing up in India, I did not know of designers, let alone successful artists outside of a handful of painters and fashion designers. I studied economics in college and subsequently, in an attempt to inch towards something creative, pursued a masters in advertising. In my formative years as an account executive with agencies in Mumbai, I finally saw a vision for my future in the work my creative team did. A fortuitous move to the United States gave me an opportunity not afforded to adults in India—the chance to return to school. It was my hero's journey—I pursued four years of art school while raising my firstborn (he was 3 months when I began school at CCA)—but I treasured the chance I was getting, which was also a crash course in American culture. I graduated with an award-winning thesis and a stint at Sputnik, the school’s in-house design agency. My professors recommended me for my first role at Levi’s. I was fortunate to join that team at a great time under a wonderful mentor/manager, designing cool collabs, directing photo shoots to conceptualizing campaigns and leading programs and brand launches. Eventually, I moved to tech, working at everything from startups to software giants. On the surface level, there seems nothing in common between these companies. What drove me, was a desire to learn something new, to explore different industry spaces and audiences, which led to a five-year stint at Meta. In 2022, I switched industries again to take a leadership role at Sephora where I get to bring together my experiences across retail and tech. Will, hard work, persistence, a sense of mission—my career is a manifestation of all that I am. Yet it is not all that I am. I am also a mother of two, a Buddhist community leader, and an involved citizen. In 2024, I gave a TEDx Talk about Developing a Protagonist Mindset, based on the Buddhist concept of Oneness of Self and Environment. My talk affirms that because we are intertwined with our environment, changes in our circumstances can begin from a change within us. I want to create work that will drive culture, create community and bring joy and meaning to people. I am open to conversations, collaborations and creating value in all possible ways. Let’s talk!
